eProdigy is a Canadian manufacturer of electric bikes. A recent entrant into the cycling business, the company's catalogue is quite modest in size, with lots of room to expand its offerings as the company matures. eProdigy's bikes are currently available from shops throughout Canada and the United States.

Beginning in 2011 as a joint venture of a motor manufacturer and a battery distributor, eProdigy exclusively makes electric bikes, targeting regular travellers looking for automobile alternatives and new cyclists. With large battery capacity and powerful motors, any of the company's bikes have the range and speed to be true car replacements.

Common to the whole range is the Bottom Bracket motor. Its position is multiply beneficial; a low center of mass only increases ride stability, and its proximity to the drivetrain passes power on with high efficiency. Separation from the wheels makes simple maintenance stay simple; no complications arise from the motor's engagement when, for instance, changing a flat. Batteries are externally mounted for ease of charge.

Models are all upright bikes. Within that category, the catalogue varies considerably: options include suspension, accessorizing, knobby or smooth treads, wheel size, and geometry. Any rider from aggressive trail-hounds to casual townies will find something appropriate to their style and equipped for their needs: the Whistler eschews extras, its Spartan frame equipped with dirt-friendly componentry; the Logan is a 700c-wheeled all-weather city bike; the Banff is a casual errand-runner's delight, with front and rear carriers and an easy step-through frame.

eProdigy is making some very good powered bikes. Stop by your local shop and take one out for a spin.
