Faraday is a U.S.-based manufacturer of electric bikes. Builders of the award-winning Porteur and its sister model, the Cortland, Faraday has no plans to expand its line, preferring to focus on making a single exceptional bike. Bikes can be purchased directly from Faraday via their online store, shippable throughout North America, and to a number of countries in Europe and the Pacific.

Founded in 2012, Faraday got off the ground with a very successful Kickstarter campaign, parlaying its modest hopes into a solid company, now producing reliable, useful, and elegant transportation.

The Porteur and Cortland are available in two component packages, both reliable and enjoyable; the more expensive replaces the chain drive with a Gates belt, the aluminum fenders with bamboo, and so forth. Framesets, battery, and cockpit are identical.

The company also offers an extensive range of useful accessories, with a great many rack choices, auxiliary batteries, a security kit, and more. Among the selections offered when configuring a new bike is the option for a Brooks B17 saddle.
