Grip Studs Bike Parts & Accessories
Grip Studs is a U.S.-based manufacturer of traction studs, for bikes, motorcycles, heavy equipment, footwear, and more. The company's entire catalogue is available online, shippable anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.
Formed in 2012 by avid trail rider Walt Foster, the company began with what would become the model of its entire future line, a flat-base auger screw with a protruding head. The design, obvious once seen, leaves no sharp points inside the tire, attaches securely to the tread, and exposes only the working surface of the stud. Initially focused on trail motorbikes and mud, the range has expanded steadily, now providing for a variety of surfaces and a large range of applications, from skid steers to wading boots.
Studs vary in size, from smaller sizes suitable for boots or street motorbikes, to the largest, designed for use with 200-ton heavy equipment, with options for ATVs, snowmobiles, trucks of all sizes, offroad and dual sport motorcycles, and, of course, bicycles.
The bicycle studs are the smallest the company makes: requiring a tread depth of only five millimeters, they're usable with practically any tire worth tackling the kind of terrain that benefits from this much added grip. Studs are offered in quantities from a single tire's worth to bulk cases.
Grip Studs makes an effective, long-lasting, removable tire stud. Worth consideration for winter riders, and off-roadies in any season.
