Starting in 1978 as a contract manufacturer for other Italian brands, SH+ began producing equipment under its own name in 2000. Modestly priced and effective, the SH+ brand has developed a good reputation in the industry, which continues to be borne out by its quality production today.

Eyewear styles range far and wide, from conservative Buddy Holly-framed sunglasses to huge-lensed, swooping, colorful performance glasses with multiple choices in light-bending. The goggles are somewhat more constrained than the sunglasses. Both goggles and glasses include an option for clip-on prescription lenses; the goggle insert is fitted, available for a subset of the available models, but providing a full field of view.

Helmets are quite a bit more cautious in design. The triathlete's Eolus is smooth-textured, but does not include a teardrop tail; the road and off-road models are quite similar to one another, the slightly greater coverage of the off-road helmet being the largest distinction. SH+ is exploring the possibilities of several retention systems; all helmets secure quite nicely, but a rider may have to learn a new mechanism with a new helmet.

The glove line is short but sweet. Three pair are available, two summer and one three-season full-finger glove. Styles are fairly traditional, color choices are broad, from monochromatic to vivid three-color, and construction is durable.
