SRAM GX Eagle

The 2018 SRAM GX Eagle group is a 12-speed offroad group. The most modestly-priced of SRAM's Eagle line, GX is completely compatible with the X01 and XX1 Eagle groups; mix and match with impunity. This edition of the group introduces the option of X-SYNC 2 oval chainrings, available in all of SRAM's standard sizes except 30T; the effect is subtle, but valuable to those looking to smooth out power transfer throughout the stroke. The cassette is identical to XX1, except for color and material; the all-steel cogset weighs in at a slightly heavier 450g.

Shifting and the rear mech are functionally identical to the other groups, in less-expensive materials, substituting a plastic shifter housing here, a cast aluminum cage there. This adds about 250 grams over XX1, delivering almost identical performance for a much more achievable price.

A very good single-ring offroad group.
