Giant TCR Advanced 0 (2012)

What can I say, this is a great bike! I've been solidly riding my 2012 Giant TCR Advanced 0 for 2 months now and the overall preception is... this is a bike that I can race, tour, commute and do everything else in between with absolute ease.

For starters, the frame is well engineered with a compact design that is light, efficient and very responsive. I can aggressively take it up steep descents or corner it at speed with the frame responding nicely giving you that level of confidence that you normally see on TV with the pro level racers.

The package comes with the Shimano Di2 groupset which is better experienced out on the open road than mentioning how user friendly and fool-proof it is. It's a joy to use and is easy to see why electronic group sets are becoming a popular trend. Giant's own wheel & tyre package is a brilliant 1st effort (even if DT swiss had some involvement). Also, top marks for the Giant branded carbon seat post, forks, handle bar and inbuilt Ridesense sensor.

In summary, this was my very first road bike after using a friends 13 year old Giant CFR for 12months. In finding my own bike, I researched all the brands that had an excellent frame with Di2 group set. The Giant always was always on the top of the list - even if the majority of fellow bike riders I knew recommended Treks or Specialized. On D-day where I had to make a decision, I test rode the Giant along with 2 other similar spec'd bikes. The Giant won hands down as it suited my build, style of riding and of course wallet. At the end of the day, I have no regrets in choosing the 2012 Giant TCR Advanced 0 - it was simply the complete package!  Less
